Overview:

The WBD Access x HBO Max Production Management Program aims to identify and elevate high-performing talent with a strong, long-term commitment to becoming Line Producers. The program is for individuals who are ready to take the next step in their careers and gain meaningful exposure to high-end television production. Participants will take part in an immersive, week-long intensive in Los Angeles, where they will uplevel their production management skills and connect with top industry professionals through mentorship and networking opportunities. 

Throughout the program participants will receive hands-on training, practical tools, and direct exposure to executives from HBO Max and across the Warner Bros. Discovery ecosystem. These experiences are designed to foster lasting relationships and open doors to future opportunities within the global WBD network. By investing in emerging Line Producers, WBD is building a robust pipeline of talent that will help shape the future of premium television production for years to come.

Program Description:

The application is open to production professionals with experience in scripted television who have been staffed on at least two productions. Eligible roles include: Unit Production Manager (UPM), Production Supervisor, Line Producer on smaller scale projects OR Production Coordinator, Production Accountant, Assistant Director (1st AD) on larger scale projects. Applicants must clearly demonstrate their experience through credits or verifiable work history. 

This opportunity is designed for production management professionals that are ready to advance to the next level in their careers. This application is open to everyone who qualifies. 

A select number of participants will be chosen to participate in a one-week intensive in Los Angeles in September 2026. This immersive experience will feature workshops led by industry experts, panel discussions with top-tier professionals, a networking dinner with production executives and one-on-one mentorship. 

The curriculum is designed to deepen the participants’ understanding of production management, enhance leadership capabilities, and provide insights into the complexities of high-end television production. Following the intensive, participants may be considered for future staffing opportunities across Warner Bros. Discovery. 

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview in August 2026. All applicants will be notified of their status by the end of August. Stipend, travel and accommodation for the one week intensive will be provided.

PROGRAM CRITERIA:

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Have at least two credits in one or more of the following roles on a scripted production as a Unit Production Manager, Production Supervisor, Line Producer on smaller scale projects OR as a Production Coordinator, Production Accountant, Assistant Directors (1st Ad) on larger scale projects.
  • Be able to work in the US and be 18 years of age or older.
  • Be available for an in-person, one-week intensive in Los Angeles (targeting mid-September 2026). Travel and accommodations will be provided for those non-local to Los Angeles.

The WBD Access Unlock Unscripted program aims to identify high-performing, mid-level unscripted producers from across the globe who aspire to get to the next level or gain exposure in different genres of reality television. Producers will be given tools and training to expand their skill set and gain exposure to executives and production companies to cultivate relationships for future opportunities.  Through this program, WBD Access is supporting emerging producers and providing a pipeline to create the next generation of Showrunners in the years to follow.

 

Program Description:

The application is open to unscripted producers who have already been staffed as mid-level producers (ex. field producer, segment producer, challenge producer or story producer).  These candidates are nearly ready to go to the next level in their producing careers. This year, a select number of unscripted producers will be selected to participate in a 1-week intensive, to be held in  New York in the summer of 2026.  They will learn all aspects of producing Unscripted lifestyle content from US-based production companies, producers, and network executives, among others and will consist of workshops, panels, networking opportunities, and more.  The content will focus on building their producer capability, equipping them with leadership skills and exposing them to the nuances of other unscripted genres of interest.  After the 1-week intensive, selected producers may be considered for future staffing opportunities across Warner Bros. Discovery Studio's and networks. 

 

Shortlisted applicants will interview in June/July. All applicants will receive a status update by late July/early August 2026.  Stipend for the 1-week intensive will be provided, as well as travel and accommodation for non-NY locals.

 

Program Criteria (US):

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Have at least two credits as a mid-level producer (Producer, Field Producer, Segment Producer, Challenge Producer, Story Producer) in unscripted programming that has aired at a streamer, linear/broadcast or cable network (home renovation, food & lifestyle programming preferred).
  • Be able to work in the US and be 18 years of age or older.
  • Be a freelance unscripted producer who is eager to step up in their careers.
  • Be available for an in-person, 1-week intensive in New York (targeting mid/late-August 2026).

 

 

Program Criteria (UK):

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Have at least two credits as a mid-level producer (Edit Producer, Senior Producer, Series Producer, Story Producer, Producer/Director) in unscripted/factual programming that has aired at a streamer, broadcast or linear channel .  (Experience in Antiques & Auctions, Crime, Extreme Medical, Extreme Jobs, Salvage and Restoration, Motoring, Documentary or similar genres are desirable/preferred).
  • Be a freelance unscripted producer who is eager to step up in their careers.
  • Be able to work in in UK and be 18 years of age or older.
  • Be able to travel to the US and be available for an in-person 1-week intensive in New York (targeting mid/late-August 2026).

 

Please note, participation is subject to the applicant being able to enter the US for the programme in compliance with US immigration rules and procedures.

The 2027 Warner Bros. Discovery Access Writers Program provides a pathway for writers seeking to enhance their skills in the episodic television writing space, learn about the business of television from executives and industry guests, and attend a master class on storytelling and collaborative creative writing.

Applicants are eligible to apply if they've staffed on one or zero seasons of US network or streaming television shows.

All applicants must submit 2 original samples. These two samples must be in the same genre (e.g. two drama scripts, two comedy scripts). The program is open to all those who are 18 years or older, live in the United States and have the right to work in the United States. Finalists will interview in Fall 2026. All applicants will receive a status update by the end of December 2026.

Selected participants will need to be available to come to Los Angeles for in-person bootcamp weeks in January 2027 (plus addition TBD weeks in Q1 and Q2 2027) as well as attend virtual curriculum throughout the program, which will run throughout the winter/spring of 2027. Dates are subject to change and travel costs for those located outside of Los Angeles will be covered by the program. Please note: this program is primarily virtual, but those who get staffed on television shows may need to relocate to undergo these WGA jobs in person.
